Psalm 117 (KJV)
1 O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.
I found this yesterday, it is the shortest chapter in the Bible. It is about praise. What a valuable and hard lesson.
How hard is it to praise? It is difficult to praise in situations that we wish we could change; but does our situations matter? I am under the impression it doesn’t.
Everything we see will PASS. But our souls and the Lord will last forever.
It is isn’t easy to look past our circumstances and realize that these tangible things are truly intangible. Kinda like The Matrix. But if you really understand the Bible, you know that there are no contradictions. Some people take verses out of context to make contradictions but if you look at it like a whole the Old Testament and New Testament mirror each other in love.
“And the truth of the Lord endures forever.” In John chapter 14 we hear Jesus say He is the way, the truth, and the life. So the truth that endures forever is Jesus.
Jesus died without reason or cause and for the very people who crucified Him. “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” It was a Jewish coup. They hated Him. They set Him up. And they eliminated Him.
Or so they thought…..
The best part is He rose again 3 days later with love in His heart for them and us.
On day 3 of creation God unified (Father, Son, and Spirit) created the dry ground. And on the 3rd day after burial Jesus rose again. Jesus is the rock. Is that a coincidence? I don’t think God is in the business of coincidence. He knows and has purpose for all things.
Regardless of circumstance, financial inability, health, drama; Jesus is on the throne. We should be forever grateful. Praise Him.
